What Trade Frenzy is
Trade Frenzy by Tamaki is a pit-style commodity card game for three to eight players. The highest commodities stay in, one for each player. The deal passes clockwise, starting with the player on the dealer’s left. That player and the next each receive ten cards. Everyone else receives nine.
Objective
Corner one commodity and call it. You need nine of one commodity, or eight plus Market Boom. Play to 25, 50, or 100 points, or with no limit. A point goal is checked when a corner is scored. The first player to reach it wins. Unlimited play continues until you leave.
How a turn works
The dealer bids first. The turn then moves clockwise until every player has an offer on the table. No one trades before that. The dealer starts the trading. On your turn, offer cards, trade with a bid already on the table, or call CORNER!. The player you ask accepts or rejects. If your trade is rejected, you keep the turn. After a trade is accepted, both players have one second to call CORNER!.
Offers, Boom, and Crash
An offer is any number of one commodity. Market Boom or Market Crash can be included with it, or offered alone. Offers stay face down. Market Crash blocks a corner in a nine-card hand. With ten cards, nine of one commodity plus Crash is a corner, and so is eight plus Market Boom plus Crash. Crash adds no points, and the winner is not penalized for holding it.
Scoring
Tap CORNER! when you think you have it. The pit stops and the bell rings, then the corner is confirmed. A real corner brings applause. A false alarm costs 8 points. Holding Market Crash or Market Boom without cornering costs 2 points for each card.
Number of players
Trade Frenzy seats three to eight players. Local play fills the open seats with bots. Online, empty seats are filled by bots too.
Local and online play
Play on this device against bots, or host an online room and share a 6-character code. The room lasts while someone is at the table. No account is required. The Android app shows ads, and a one-time purchase in Google Play removes them. The website does not show ads.
