About Four in a Row
What Four in a Row is
Four in a Row by Tamaki is the classic disc-dropping board game. The rack has seven columns. On your turn you choose a column, and the disc falls to the lowest open space. Keys 1 through 7 drop in those columns.
Objective
Line up four of your discs in a row, column, or diagonal. The first player to do that wins. A full board with no four in a row is a draw.
How a turn works
The player chosen before the match drops first. Each new game in the sitting swaps who drops first, including a match against Tamaki. Against Tamaki, choose Easy, Medium, or Hard. That strength stays for the sitting. Each player uses the checker color chosen before the match.
Number of players
Four in a Row is a two-player game. Play against Tamaki, pass one device between two people, or host a table for someone on another device.
Strategy
A line of three with an open end has to be answered, or the next drop finishes it. The middle columns give more ways to connect than the edges. Look at both colors before you drop, because blocking one line can open another.
Local and online play
Two on this device share one board, so pass it after each drop. Online, the host opens a table and shares a 6-character code. The host chooses who drops first, then starts when the other player joins. Each new game swaps who drops first. If someone leaves during a match, Tamaki takes that seat and the game continues. No account is required. New game clears the board and keeps the score for this sitting. Home ends the sitting.
